Summary:
Under the supervision of the Lead Teacher, Site Coordinator(s), and/or Program Manager, Instructional/Classroom Assistant will assist with the development of academic and enrichment activities with an assigned group of students, helping to provide instruction and enrichment opportunities for all students.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age Six (6) or more months of experience working with students in a classroom setting Skill set or desire to work with at-risk students preferred Prior experience with tutoring and/or pupil instruction More than 30 credit hours and/or 6 or more months experience working with max of 5-7 or more students No criminal records Tasks:
Discuss assigned duties with classroom Teacher(s), Para Professional(s), and/or Program Manager in order to coordinate instructional efforts.
Tutor and assist students individually or in small groups in order to help them master assignments Provide academic support With direction from lead teacher or program manager direction, lead students in organized groups activities Maintain appropriate student/site required documents Provide extra assistance to students with special needs, such as students with physical and mental disabilities With direction help to supervise, organize, and promote activities designed to enhance the healthy emotional, social, intellectual, and physical development of students enrolled at TCRC Help maintain a neat and organized center and classroom(s) Help students establish good habits of personal hygiene Be aware of student locations at all times (inside and outside of the building) Assist with daily attendance roster of the students in assigned classroom Perform all duties as assigned (or asked) Physical Requirements Prolonged periods standing and walking throughout the classroom.
Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds at a time.
Must be able to sit and stand on the floor throughout the day, and bend, kneel, or squat to be at eye level with children.
Must be able to navigate each department at the organization's facilities Climb up and down stairs with or without a load Have mobility required to ensure the safety of students both inside and outside of center Work outside - ability to be exposed to elements (such as pollen, humidity and etc.
) Stand and/or bend continuously for a minimum of 2 hours with or without a load Perform light cleaning with household grade chemicals Have visual and hearing capabilities that are consistent with department needs Job Types:
